Lonely Woman

When the lights went out in the conference room in which we were recording, Allan didn’t miss a beat.

The power had gone out in Medford the night before and it took us a while to realize that the flickering of the lights had to do with a timer and a motion sensor rather than a multi-block blackout.  So, every once in a while during his reading or the interview, we would be plunged into darkness and I would flap my arms to illuminate the room again.

I’m still editing our interview—we ended up talking for over an hour—and putting together a set of images and links to accompany the episode, which I plan to post next week.

In the meantime, you can click the link below to listen to Allan read chapters 1, 34 and 35 from his novel-in-progress.

Listen to "You Stopped Galloping" Allan reads from his novel, The Dying Nude.
